Carlos Abadi is an investment banker out of New York who focuses his talents especially on Latin American countries like Ecuador. He resides on the Boards of two important entities, while holding down the position of president for Abadi& Co.

Carlos Abadi comes from a long line of philanthropists and carries on this family tradition by supporting charities important to him and being active in his synagogue and community.

Carlos Abadi: The Financier

Carlos Abadi is currently the president of the well-known international financial firm Abadi& Co. This financial firm specializes on emerging markets and is firmly established in the financial market as one of the oldest financial companies still in business today.

Besides acting as president of Abadi& Co., Carlos Abadi is part of the Board of Directors for Refco Litigation Trust, where he plays an active role as an important board member. Carlos Abadi also devotes his time to Roubini Global Economics (RGE) as a member of their Board.


Carlos Abadi: The Philanthropist

In addition to his demanding job and his responsibilities as members of both RGE's and Refco Litigation Trust's Boards, Carlos Abadi is actively involved in improving his community. Carlos Abadi is a proud and devoted member of the Central Synagogue congregation in Manhattan. He also regularly volunteers his time on the social action committee of the Central Synagogue.

When Carlos Abadi isn't volunteering for the Central Synagogue, he financially helps support the Inwood House in New York City. The Inwood House dedicates its time and money to the poverty-stricken pockets of New York, as well as helping those coping with teen pregnancy.

Carlos Abadi: Following a Long Line of Good Works

Carlos Abadi isn't the first in his family to devote much of his time, energy and money to philanthropic causes. The Abadis are well-known for their generosity and academic achievements. MoussaAbadi is Carlos Abadi's great uncle and a WWII hero of the French Resistance because of his efforts that successfully saved Jewish children from the evils of German concentration camps via the Abadi Network, which MoussaAbadi is credited with co-founding.


Helen Solterer, a professor at Duke University, delivers a lecture titled "The Passion of MoussaAbadi: Medieval Theater, Hiding Jewish Children, Paris 1933-Nice 1943." To help her deliver this fascinating lecture, Carlos Abadi donated important historical artifacts that directly relate to MoussaAbadi's accomplishments through the Abadi Network during WWII.

Other well-known Abadis include Martin Abadi, Carlos Abadi's cousin, who wrote A Theory of Objects and is a computer science professor. Marcelo Abadi, Carlos Abadi's uncle, is an internationally-acclaimed literary critic. Marcelo Abadi is also known for writing about Spinoza and Borges.

Carlos Abadi truly lives up to his family history by propagating important achievements of his ancestors, as well as devoting much of his time and energy to helping people. Abadi& Co. should continue to thrive with Carlos Abadi at the helm, and his community will continue to benefit from his financial knowledge and from his desire to better the lives of others.
